Jací has no idea she is a Kaiawa dirtwalker from the land of Evora. That’s because she’s been raised by a cartographer named Benigno, a Pansean who is responsible for the massacre of her parents. Jací's world turns upside down when she finds out she is a dirtwalker, and refuses to believe that she’s not a Pansean. Through her journey, life in the town of Conta introduces her to new friends and creatures. Some who encourage her to know her past while others are out to destroy her. Jací is taken into a world she can no longer ignore. She is not called to duty by fate, but rather she finds the courage to be the hero of her own destiny.
